Truth to materials; a motto created by the Bauhaus, yet it suits me as if it were my own. I abide by this not only in my tangible materials which comprise my paintings, but also the intangible material that creates me – my history, my memories, in short, my individualism. My most powerful memories often stem from a specific period of time; my childhood. These memories manifest themselves in my paintings not as explicit individual recollections, but as expressions in the form of components that I have an affinity with due to their firm location in my memory and indeed, collective memory.
